Happy 10000!

I hit 10,000 views last month and I didn't realize it until now. I've got a load of posts queued up for the next week, so here's to the next 10,000. I never realized that people actually read this blog of mine, haha. 

Yesterday we had game night at Sara's house with friends new and old. We all can't believe that our first year at University is ending, it seemed as if it was only a month ago we all only started to hang out.

This post is two weeks late! If you follow me on any of my social media, I posted how I was vacationing back in the Philippines and Tokyo. Before that however, I had a little Christmas dinner with my closest friends. We threw a little party at Sara's house and played games+had really good food. Sara makes the spiciest Jambalaya. Here's some of the pictures from that night. 

At the usual time of 3, we all met up and waited for everyone to come. As per usual, Nikki, Keita, and I were the first ones there, then Esther, and Sab as she had a doctor's appointment. We all wore our "ugly" sweaters. Kind of tradition here in the US, wear the ugliest Christmas sweaters at holiday parties, hah.

Esther brought DIY hand rolls. Basically, California Rolls but not in roll form? Still really really good!

We played Dance Central, which honestly is so fun but extremely exhausting! Sara's a pro at this game, lol. Keita and I danced to 2NE1's I Am The Best and severely screwed up a lot of the moves. Unlike Just Dance, you have to use your entire body for this, lol. 

Keita made this type of Chiffon cake that tasted really good! Esther is sneezing, I think. 

Sabrina Chang vs. VIXX, who will make it out alive? Who will be the winner? Who will be the loser? Stay tuned. (It's Sab.) lol 

Our little get together wouldn't be complete with a round of Guesstures. 

Esther is the queen of this game, even if it takes her team the entire 30 seconds to guess one word. 

Yeah I'm not entirely sure what Esther's doing here.

black&white; ghosts.

Early July, I went ahead and flexed my styling and photography skills and had a small shoot with my friends, Nikki and Sara. This photoshoot itself was a running gag between all of us, LOL. Nikki's been writing this story that centers around a Death Dealer, a Resident Ghost, and an Agent of Life. 

I played the Agent of Life, hence my cherubic-look. Sara was in charge of the makeup so she took inspiration from John Galliano's 2009 Fall collection. Sara is the Death Dealer and she had a "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" look to her. As for Nikki who played the Resident Ghost, Sara made her look more pale and tired. 

Anywho, I don't wanna go and explain what the story is because damn is it a mouthful. So here are some of the best shots in the entire set, which you can view on my flickr.

The red eyeliner and the gradient lip were simple, but very striking against Sara's pale skin. 

The makeup for me was EXTREMELY thick and very caked on in real life, but as soon as I stepped under the studio set up, it somehow made me look extremely angelic and young. I guess filling in my eyebrows and such would make such a big difference! Props to Sara for her wonderful makeup skills!

Editing Nikki as the Ghost was the most fun out of the three of us. Basically, to make her see through, I had to take a shot of the chair separately, then of her, and had to superimpose the images together.

PROM 2014

Growing up, I've always expected Prom to be something right out of a John Hughes movie. I'd always imagined the event to take place in the school gymnasium, decked out with the cheesiest decorations like tinsel and cheap banners. But, that was the past. After entering high school, I've come to realize that I was not only wrong, I was completely wrong. Prom, in recent years, is completely different. Here's a recap, of the precursor of one of the most memorable nights of my final year in high school!

This post only has the pictures of what happened before we actually went out and had fun, I didn't bring my heavy camera along with me actually. I wanted to enjoy the moment instead of snapping away, so please do excuse me for that! 

My date, Sara and I. We opted for a classic all-black look. It's kinda funny, here in the US prom dresses for girls either get shorter than ever, or mirror wedding dresses. 

 Esther, Nikki, Alex, myself, Sara, and Tess. We took a few pictures before everybody else arrived, strangely the 99 degree weather didn't seem to bother us.

Sab and Yulli missed out on this wonderful Sailor Scout shoot. Nikki's face says it all.

For the past years I've encountered some of the trashiest people; and yet amongst the rough, I've found some of the most extraordinary people I have the honor of calling my friends.

Here's a basic and quick drop down of what we did that night. 

1. Bellagio Museum of Fine Art

3. Comme Ca at Cosmopolitan for dinner.

4. Sara and I headed to the LINQ and people watched, while Tess, Yulli, Esther, Nikki, Alex, and Sab watched Cirque du Soleil's KA. Sara and I watched that show numerous times already so we opted to do something else. Mucho thank you to the big sis for hooking us up with those wonderful tickets <3 

5. Headed to Tea Station and had boba. 

6. Called it a night because exhaustion! 

I know you're wondering, did we even attend the actual dance? No. Nowadays, people only attend the dance very briefly, and go elsewhere for dinner and an afterparty. We decided to skimp out on that entire ordeal and do something on our own time. Do we regret it? Absolutely not.

The Cream to my Coffee, The Sugar to my Tea.

You'll get why the title is like that in a few. Honestly, this Spring Break has been one of the best ones in my opinion. Yes, I am stuck at home, but that doesn't mean that I'm miserable! In fact, I'm really, really happy. I started off break with two of my best friends, Tiffanie and Lauren. I know all of you see I hang out with Tiffanie a lot, but the fact that Lauren came with us (finally!) made this day even better. 

We've been so busy lately we haven't had the chance to sit down and have a decent catch up/meal with each other. I think that's the great thing about solid friendships, you can go several weeks without speaking and when you do see each other, it's as if nothing changed! 

As per usual, we started the day off with food. Heavenly food, if I do say so myself. We went down to the District and ate at Settebello. I've only ever eaten here once but I won't ever forget how great this place is. I suggested this place and since Tiff and Lauren haven't eaten here, they agreed. We like new things!

The quote about how good food gets better with great company is true. These two have stuck by me through thick and thin, they're practically family already. Hell, they eat at my place often!

We ordered the Genovese Pizza, which had Basil, Pesto, Prosciutto, and Mozzarella cheese. Heaven. It's heaven. Please do try it if you do end up coming here! 

Freshly made Focaccia bread. I think we all mutually agreed that Settebello will be our new eating spot for the next few months. The pizza still lingers in my dreams. 

After eating, we decided to run some errands together to fill up some of the time. We took a trip down to Target and looked around for some things. Tiff ended up buying herself a copy of The Fault in Our Stars after reading mine.  Who's excited for the movie? I know I am. 

I know I'm not the only person that does this, but my decision to buy something is based around it's packaging. The cleaner it is and the more modern, I'm more inclined to buy it. That's why I am in LOVE with Target's Kid Made Modern line of art supplies. As an advocate for art, I can't stress how important it is to introduce art to growing children. Art has helped me in so many ways and I can only hope it does the same to kids everywhere else. 

See what I mean about the packaging? Clean, modern, and appealing. I've actually been eyeing the set of stretched canvases. $15 for a pack of canvases in several sizes? What a steal.

The first time I was introduced to Kid Made Modern, I wasn't a kid anymore. At first I was completely shocked at how much progress Target has reached when it came to selling art supplies to kids. Back then, all I had was Crayola, or worse, Rose Art. Now with the introduction of Kid Made Modern, I'm sure there are more child artists out there! 

For party needs, my family's go-to is Spritz. Spritz offers a bunch of quirky decorations like paper straws, streamers, and whatnot. 

After Target, we finally decided to go to the one place we've been wanting to go to for the longest time. Driving all the way across town, we went to Serenade for some coffee. It was my first time going there and it was such a breath of fresh air. I loved the ambience and the set up of the entire place.  Serenade is a Korean coffee shop that oozes that coffee culture vibe. Though it is my first time, I can see myself coming back in days to come.

Their decor is nothing short of amazing. I think my ideal home would have exposed brick walls such as this and modern light fixtures. 10 points to Serenade for wonderful interior design!

The chalkboard menu and overall feel of the place reminded me a whole lot of The First Shop of Coffee Prince. One of my all time favorite Korean dramas. The fact that they had some acoustic Korean music playing in the background added to that as well. 

 Even the hallway leading to the restrooms are decorated! 

Another 10 points added for their industrial ceiling. Tiffanie knew that I was gonna add that into my blog, hehe. 

Tiffanie ordered a Green Tea Frappe while Lauren and I both ordered a Cafe Latte. The latte art is amazing! What stood out to me the most was the fact that the coffee was perfect. It wasn't too sweet nor was it completely bitter. It was just right, and I wouldn't have it any other way. 

"LOOK CANDID!" Tiffanie turns into a Mexican Farmer.
