DESERT DREAMER

Last week I had a wonderful opportunity to work as a photographer for my friend Sam's makeup portfolio. She casted Nikki as her model and we drove to Red Rock and had ourselves a shoot revolving around 3 looks. Since we were in a desert environment the looks Sam did on Nikki were heavily inspired by the canyon's colors.

Look One was inspired by the red against the blue sky.

I also took some headshots of Sam. When you're in a location as beautiful as Red Rock Canyon, you take every opportunity to use it!

Look Two was focused on the colors of the canyon. Lots of reds, browns, and oranges.

Look Three, which was my personal favorite, was inspired by the desert plants against the dry areas.

It's always so fun working with these two.

Happy 10000!

I hit 10,000 views last month and I didn't realize it until now. I've got a load of posts queued up for the next week, so here's to the next 10,000. I never realized that people actually read this blog of mine, haha.

Yesterday we had game night at Sara's house with friends new and old. We all can't believe that our first year at University is ending, it seemed as if it was only a month ago we all only started to hang out.

Thank you for the fun night!

and Thank YOU for the 10,000! Thank you for supporting AeroDynamo!!

flowerpower//gothicromantic

The week before my Spring Break, I decided to do a photoshoot with Sara and Keita. Keita's actually my first male model so I was super excited to photograph him! The theme of the shoot was an antithesis of things. The first part was a flowery doe/deer theme, the second, a dark and edgy one. Sara's makeup skills are so good, I owe it to her for helping and modelling.

Keita's half Japanese and half American (i dont know what shade of white Keita is tbh), so his look was perfect for this shoot. It was a breath of fresh air having a male model aside from myself to photograph!

The freckles Sara drew on herself and Keita were so adorable. The mini deer antler headband Sara has on was also a nice touch.

The GothicRomantic shoot is my personal favorite.

I loved the makeup job Sara did on Keita's eyes! They complimented her look as well, you guys can expect to see Keita in more of my shoots!

I had a lot of fun doing this shoot with these two and since the theme was primarily makeup centered, Sara deserves all the credit in helping make this shoot super successful. Along with Keita whom made his debut as my model for this shoot. Thanks again guys!

SYD GOES TO DOVER STREET MARKET GINZA

If you ask me, Dover Street Market in Ginza can be summed up into two categories.

Category 1.

Dover Street Market is what looks like if you stare directly at the sun.

Category 2.

Dover Street Market is every avant garde artists' dream come true.

To me, it's both.

I felt like my visit to the place deserved it's own post.

Dover Street Market is a multilevel fashion retail and concept store found by Comme des Garçons founder, Rei Kawakubo. The store I visited is in Ginza, but the original store is located in Dover Street, Mayfair, London. Hence the name.  I've always loved the destroyed/experimental look of Kawakubo's label, so to see an entire building dedicated to that was pretty cool. Actually, cool can't describe it well. It's an experience.

DSM Ginza also houses brands such as Alexander Wang, Ann Demeulemeester, Chloé, Miu Miu, Juun J, Maison Margiela, and many more. The only thing I regret not visiting was the Rose Bakery at the top most floor.

Anyways, let's get on with the pictures.

There was this gigantic installation of what I'm assuming to be is a grasshopper.

It's neighbor was this elephant.

Computers so that you could sign up for the newsletter/browse collections.

I really like the coat on the left.

This cool cat in the polka dotted shirt was ringing up my shoes.
I didn't take a lot of photos because I was afraid I wouldn't be allowed to, lol. If you have the opportunity to visit Dover Street Market in either Ginza, New York, or Mayfair, then please do go!

NIKKI IN JAPAN

I did a mini photo project while I was abroad. Titled Nikki in Japan, I "took" one of my closest friends with me on this trip. Think of it as Flat Stanley almost. I photographed her photo throughout my adventures, so in a sense she was adventuring with me as well.
